A Goodreads Alternative That Brings Your Books With You

Keep your history, change the app. Spinebloom reads Goodreads’ own export file, so your shelves, ratings and reading dates come with you.

Your Books Come With You

Every shelf, star rating and date read, from the file Goodreads gives you. Import a newer file any time: nothing doubles.

Ratings With Room

Quarter stars, plus your own vibes, pace and spice level for every book.

Posts From Your Real Shelf

Stacks, shelves, wrap-ups and a Year Recap, drawn from the books you actually read.

Clubs That Never Spoil It

Posts stay covered until your own progress passes that page.

No Ads In Your Reading

Free, and it works without an account. Your reading stays on your phone unless you sign in.

Switch In Three Steps

  1. Open The Export Page

Sign in at goodreads.com, open My Books, then Import and Export under Tools.

  2. Export Your Library

Tap Export Library. After a minute or so a link appears under it. Tap it to download the file.

Questions

Can I keep my Goodreads history?

Yes. Export your library from Goodreads as a CSV file, then choose it in Spinebloom. Shelves, ratings and reading dates come in.

Does Spinebloom keep up with Goodreads by itself?

Not for now. Goodreads stopped sharing shelves with other apps in October 2026, so bring in a newer export file whenever you like.

Is Spinebloom free?

Yes. There are no ads in your reading. Any ads are optional and only inside the games.

Can I leave Spinebloom later?

Yes. Export your books any time in Goodreads’ file format, which other trackers read.
